Typinator is faster and less wonky than TextExpander. It is one of four essential productivity apps I could not live without. I have tried the others, but Typinator is the easiest – by far. I tested a couple of other products before purchasing yours and only Typinator was 100% rock-solid. Typinator is the BEST utility I have purchased in a very long time. It's also more difficult to wrangle for some people.

Keyboard Maestro is far more powerful than TextExpander on the Mac but lacks any useful functionality on iOS. Alfred is just fine for basic snippets on the Mac but aText is probably the better option if you don't like TypeIt4Me or Typinator. For kicks I did a CPU usage comparison between the two programs. I like the look and feel a bit better too - feels more like a Mac app - and it feels snappier than PhraseExpress, to me at least. I gave both programs an honest shot, and Breevy is just as easy to use for me as PhraseExpress is, if not easier. TextExpander lets you instantly insert snippets of text from a repository of emails, boilerplate and other content, as you type – using a quick search. In a nutshell, TextExpander automatically expands abbreviations, such as “.me” – Michael Kummer. TextExpander is an app I use every day, and it saves me hours of typing every month.
